In 1986, Mount Royal amalgamated our annual senior girls' and boys' tournaments. M.R.I.T., our girls' tournament, already had a rich 14 year history while Mustang Volley, our boys' tournament, was inaugurated in 1985. The 39th annual combined tournament, MUSTANG VOLLEY, will take place at Mount Royal Collegiate on October 15th, 16th, & 17th, 2026. Teams will be guaranteed seven two set matches and the possibility of two additional best of three matches. There will be no bronze (3rd place match) for the consolation side.
In keeping with M.R.I.T. tradition and the goals of Mustang Volley, the combined tournament has been designed with the intent to develop a high level of play. The organizing committee will consider teams based on the following priorities:
- The top four senior girls' teams and the top four boys' teams in Saskatoon
- Out-of-province, or out of country teams
- Saskatchewan 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A medalists
- Other Saskatchewan teams
You are invited to apply to participate in Mustang Volley 2026. Applications will be accepted by our organizing committee until April 17, 2026, according to the criteria noted above. We encourage you to consider applying to participate. Please submit your entry early. Sending in your application does not mean you are accepted; it means our selection committee will consider your application.
